With all of the regular hunting seasons closed, and a need for a new fur hat, we're loading up the flintlock rifle one last time this winter and heading out for a little predator hunting. Coyote hunting can get controversial at times, but mainly due to hunting contests designed to see who can shoot the most. But that's not what we're about. I'm after just one coyote for now and have a special project in mind for his pelt if I can get one to give it up. Trapping and Predator calling are things I did a lot back when I was a kid but fell away from it for one reason or another. Being back out there calling coyotes was a good reminder of how fun it is to see one coming over the hill to your dying rabbit calls.
