This week we're heading down to the south Texas brush country, bowhunting Texas hogs and javelina along the US/Mexico border. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to bow hunt wild hogs with a traditional bow. The open brush and prickly pear flats are perfect for spot and stalk hunting. My buddy Damon is shooting his bear recurve bow and I'll be hunting with a fire hardened hickory selfbow I made a while back. There's no shortage of game to stalk and we soon get a pig on the ground and turn this thing into a catch and cook, Texas style. Many people don't give wild hogs the credit they deserve when it comes to the dinner table but it's hard to find any wild game that'll beat a slow smoked ham from a young sow. Pulled pork sandwiches anyone?
