An American-Turkish activist was killed after being shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank, on Friday.

Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, was fatally injured during a protest against Jewish settlement expansion in Beita, near Nablus.

Eygi had recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Turkey’s President Erdogan condemned the incident, calling it "barbaric."

The UN called for a "full investigation" and accountability for Eygi's death.
