A review of the Maverick Gen II with Magnifier by Vector Optics. Red dots are kind of tricky for me in airsoft. Airsoft guns aren’t as precise as real guns, so mounting a “real” red dot on an airsoft gun has always seemed a little trivial to me, and not just because the cost of a “real” red dot or scope is usually more than the cost of the gun itself. My biggest requirement for a sight system is that it holds a zero well, and I think that the Maverick red dot is capable of that. I love the adjustable turrets and the profile of the optic. I would use the red dot any day and I would recommend it for the money.
The magnifier is a different story… A loose flip-to-side mount and low eye relief remove a lot of the utility I can see it having on the airsoft field. It rally seems like more of a "tacticool" attachment as opposed to something that really works.
