A review of the Lancer Tactical KR-103, a replica airsoft AEG based on the real-life Kalashnikov AK-103. Retailing for around $200, the KR-103 boasts a well-made Version 3 gearbox and impressive motor turnover for a lower cost AEG (with an 11.1v lipo battery to boot). While the body of this airsoft replica features a heavy use of plastic, it still holds together well and manages to look cool while doing it. We put this thing through it's paces and it performed admirably on the airsoft field (considering it's build quality and price point). While the hop-up is lackluster at longer ranges and fires at anemic FPS of 320-330 FPS, it's accuracy and gearbox quality seem to be robust enough to perform reliably on the field. It also hosts a quick-change spring system for players looking to increase their impact. For the AK user on a budget, the Lancer Tactical KR-103 might be something to check out.
