Is John Walker ACTUALLY Stronger Than Captain America?

After the release of thunderbolts and the rise of the notorious Walk Em Down Walker, a lot of people have been comparing him to our original Captain America, Steve Rogers. The memes have already been dropping saying his feats should just clear Walkers. But when looking at every piece of evidence, you’ll come to realize that it’s actually harder to argue for Steve Rogers. Let me explain. Captain America aka Steve Rodgers is one of the most iconic members of the Avengers team, consisting of heroes like Iron Man Thor Hulk Doctor Strange Scarlet Witch Sentry and other powerful superheroes across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Steve Rodgers was known for combatting the Winter Soldier, aka Bucky Barnes. Along with other characters like Loki Thor Iron Man Thanos and the actual competent characters within Marvel. However he has to go up against US Agent, who in my opinion is a stronger Captain America. John Walker, like Steve Rogers, is Captain America, but only for a brief amount of time. He was mainly shown in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier show, where he fought Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson at the same time. He was able to also take down multiple supersoldiers, while now becoming apart of the New Avengers aka the Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts* is the newest MCU Movie to come out and is one of the best Marvel Cinematic Universe films in the series. The first point in this debate usually comes from this feat right here. Not only is it probably Steve’s greatest strength feat without the use of his shield, but it is one of the most moving moments in the entire MCU. The specific helicopter he was able to hold is an Airbus AS350. The maximum weight take off for this aircraft is roughly 5,000 LBS. A lot of you will probably say that Walker has never done anything as impressive as this, but he actually has. In the falcon show, while he was literally fighting other super soldiers, he was able to lift a falling NYPD Swat Truck. Mind you these trucks weigh on average 16,500 to 17,550 pounds. For comparison, that is over 3x stronger than Rodger’s apparent “best feat”. ( 3.33-3.51) Another good way to compare the two is Bucky, as both fighters have combated him in the past. there’s a huge difference in both of their fights. Cap with his shield is pretty much evenly matched with the Winter Soldier using his initial metal arm. Physically Bucky is stronger than him, it's just the shield that really helps him close the gap. And even then we’ve seen Bucky catch straight throws from Cap with his shield. Bucky goes on to get wakandan vibranium, which makes him even stronger than before confirmed in Infinity War. Another thing to note as well for those who are going to mention it, Bucky is NOT weaker than Winter Soldier. The best argument I can make for this is Bucky being mentally nerfed at the start of the show maybe? The Winter Soldier isn't necessarily a bloodlusted version of Bucky, rather one that is being controlled & kills people. However Bucky has gotten much stronger since this point and isn’t held back mentally by his old habits. So pretty much, Walker over Bucky who’s stronger than the old Bucky, who at best Steve is equal to. We also do see a minor visual difference when it comes to Bucky's strikes, with him making a bigger crater in Thunderbolts then when he was punching thru concrete in Winter Soldier. “Oh but learned Steve has fought Thanos, surely that makes him better than John, WRONG”. I’m using a scale that specifically has Walker upscaling from Steve, so theoretically if Walker took Rodger’s place, he’d probably hold Thanos off longer. This is also not really a feat when Thanos by the end of the movie was confirmed to be holding back. He had the time stone before this as well so by this point he knew whatever happened he could just uno reverse card out the situation. So in conclusion, Walker has a feat that’s over 3x Rodger’s apparent best feat in the series, He overpowers a stronger Bucky while Cap is only at best stalemating him when he has a weaker arm, and before they both took the serum Rodger was that Walker that looked like Duck, while Walker was borderline Superhuman. The only thing Rodger has over John is just more experience and skill with the shield. However his skills shouldn’t be all that much better, considering he’s barely beating himself from over a decade ago. In my opinion if these two went pound for pound, the US Agent is strong enough to catch Rodger’s shield and even use it back at him. If they engage in close quarters Rodger would have the better hands, but the moment Walker lands an actual blow on him Rodger is going to take severe damage. And if we give them both their own shield, John hits him once after he throws it and it’s GGs for Steve.
