Chi Sau and wrestling share a common rule, do not make full contact with fists. The wrestling drill called Pummeling is just a small inside entry drill to cycle underhooks. But the defenition of Pummel is to HIT a bunch of times.
I wondered what would happen to the punneling drill in chi sau, and then with other wrestling entry moves. Is it not true that chainpunching is the ultimate pummeling?
WT Section 1234 makes for a fluent set of arms. Take the kicking out as most people do in WC Chi Sau cycles anyway, and add a new theme of "pummeling" without the full grapple....and see what happens. What makes Wing Tsun Chi Sau the best is also why this happens.
The WT Centreline Theory is the cleanest path along the center. From this core of muscle memory we can grow out. Any martial art that begins with a focus on a speciallity will run the risk of missing too much from other aspects of empty hand fighting. Wrestling can get someone to punching sometimes, and punching can take us into wrestling.
