Local Emergency Alert System Test for the state of Iowa, issued February 7, 2024 at 2:55 AM CT (relayed at 2:59 AM).
0:04 - KGLI-FM (iHeart-affiliated Adult contemporary station; re-encoded with a Trilithic EASyPLUS decoder.)
A sight that should be expected for Emergency Alert System captures on my channels. Audio is particularly noisy as the antenna can't seem to pick up KGLI-FM very well without additional (USB) power.
0:48 - KCAU-DT (Nexstar-owned ABC affiliate)
For the first time in quite a while, KCAU got around to fixing their Emergency Alert System equipment, therefore now being able to relay this month's test! It still needs a bit of work (the station audio heavily overlaps with the relay, as heard here.), but is a massive improvement from my previous captures.
Sorry, no KTIV capture this time around (which honestly would have brought this capture full-circle as they were the station I caught my first uploaded test from) as their EAS equipment doesn't seem to relay local tests anymore (likely a misconfiguration on their end, they were only able to relay the 2024 National Periodic Test--as that was sent over IPAWS CAP--and that's it.)
