As I was growing up, I ate too much sugar but otherwise it was quite a balanced and nutritious diet. Then I went vegetarian, then briefly vegan, then Paleo. With each diet I got weaker and sicker. When I found out I had Hashimoto's, I went gluten free for 6 months and that didn't help me at all either. Around a year ago, I promised to myself that enough was enough. No more restrictions and food fears in my life. I realised that my negative attitude and fear of food were creating a self-fulfilling prophecy: I expected bad things to happen when I ate certain foods and they happened. Food stopped making me excited and I felt less and less joyful in my life. I decided to start by changing my attitude and by making peace with all the foods that I had previously been labelling as good or bad (thanks, Paleo diet). When you relax around food, your body relaxes and responds accordingly, too. That's one of the biggest lessons I've learned in my healing journey. The mind is a very powerful tool. Now I have the freedom to eat whatever I like and my body keeps healing successfully. I hope this video gives you some inspiration and food for thought. Life is too short to be afraid of food.
