Set in Aceh, Indonesia, Inong Peudame (translated as "Women Peacemaker") tells the story of women whose courage, voices, and collective action shaped the journey toward peace during Aceh’s period as a Military Operations Area (DOM). Through the experiences of women activists, survivors, and community leaders, the documentary traces how women came together to support survivors, protect communities, and advocate for peace and justice.
At the heart of this journey is Duek Pakat Inong Aceh (DPIA), the Aceh Women’s Congress, which brought together women’s diverse voices and aspirations.
The film also reflects on the legacy of this movement in the context of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda and how women continue to advance leadership and sustain peace across generations, preserving the stories of those whose courage helped shape Aceh’s peace so that their contributions are never forgotten.
