Some stories are never written. Others are written, folded away, and never shared.
For many survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, the decision to speak is shaped by fear, stigma, trauma, and uncertainty. Silence is not the absence of a story—it is often the weight of one.
This short film follows a woman's quiet struggle between remembering and remaining silent, reminding us that behind every untold story is a person carrying the burden alone.
By creating safe, survivor-centred pathways to justice and support, we can help ensure that no one has to carry that burden in silence.

![EmPower National Gathering: Local Action, National Impact | Indonesia
From Aceh, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), women are driving climate action to strengthen food security and build more resilient communities.
At EmPower National Forum: Local Action, National Impact, women leaders and community representatives shared how local initiatives are making a difference by:
💧 Protecting water springs
🌱 Turning waste into organic fertilizer and renewable energy
🌾 Strengthening community seed banks and local food systems
Their stories show that women are not only affected by climate change, but they are also leading the solutions.
EmPower: Women for Climate-Resilient Societies II is implemented by UN Women and UNEP, with support from the Governments of Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, and Switzerland. In Indonesia, EmPower supports the WRI consortium comprising the Aceh Climate Change Initiative, Gema Alam, and YAKINES.
