I’m 45 and a lot of times I say the only reason that I’m still here is because I try to take care of myself.
Most careers don’t end from lack of talent. They end from ignored injuries.
At 45, Max King is still competing because he treats injury management like training. When something breaks, he doesn’t wait it out. He attacks it early, gets answers, and fixes the problem before it compounds.
The athletes who were better than him early on didn’t lose ability. They lost time. And time turned small issues into exits.
Here’s the lesson:
• Injuries don’t end careers. Neglect does.
• Fix problems early or they multiply.
• Longevity is earned through maintenance.
