This is Indiana Jones’ iconic fedora from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), and it is easily one of the most recognisable costume pieces in movie history.
Handcrafted by the legendary Herbert Johnson Hat Company – the same makers behind Indy’s original Raiders of the Lost Ark fedora – this version was created especially for the second film.
For Temple of Doom, costume designer Anthony Powell and assistant Joanna Johnston gave Indy’s look a fresh edge, with a sleeker fedora to match the film’s darker tone and more daring stunts. Fun fact: Harrison Ford performed many of those stunts himself, even while recovering from a serious back injury during production!
