This is a follow up review to the installation video of this carplay radio installed a few months ago. The reason for the delay was the insistence by so many that it wouldn't last a month before the finals died. Since no radio finals deals well with impedance mismatches, coupled with pictures i've received on wiring based on conversation from the first video, I can see where the high rate of failure might have come from. That said, the company does little to put faith in their product as stated in their own manual that it should be tested before installation.
Mind the focus in the video, Its hard to focus a screen that close and my main camera was being used for the carplay functions.

Truly the greatest disappointment in this product is that the price seems to be going up. Looking at the review you will see its a novelty at best, but by no means a professional product. Something to enjoy but not to take too seriously.
Top issues include
1. Factory defaulting just because it wants to.
2. Carplay audio stops being audible requiring disconnect/reconnect of usb
3. USB/SD services create phantom file of each file on FS for no apparent reason, every other track is an error
4. Microphone is stuck in unit ruining phone speaking quality
5. Disables music in reverse gear actuation with backup camera
6. Return from audio settings to autoplay required reconnect to autoplay, gap in music.
Now, ive found the factory defaulting bit can be mitigated by not operating the radio with the iphone when the car is not running. Further, I never use USB or SD and hadnt noticed the issue until testing day. This and the other issue are just annoyances.
As for the sound..... It sounds pretty good and the carplay interface is superb, the radio interface is too, backup camera works great. Just dont use anything other features.... really....especially with the car off or the battery under voltaged.
