It seems after about 8 years the turn signal switches seem to break for this given part in the same location. Repair doesn't seem to do the trick and replacement is cheap and easy if you do it yourself.
Following the process in the video, with the removal of molding in the correct order followed by the binnacle gains access to the steering column.
Care should be taken with the binnacle as its very delicate. Also the clips for the molding around the steering column are generally busted, requiring repair.
There is a special technique to installing the binnacle as demonstrated in the video.
All functions should be tested upon completion.
