I spent the last year building a studio and this is the first song that I recorded in my new set up ... a cover of this massive hit by one on the top five bands to come out of Dunfermline! An 80s anthem, this piece features three main guitars (power chords, picking and the famous 'bagpipe' lead). Add some compressed drums and a thumping bass, and you have a powerful song with powerful lyrics.

For the guitars, I played the power chords on a Castrol Oil can guitar that I purchased in South Africa; for Bruce's picking part, I used my 1973 Stratocaster (that I purchased in 1973); and finally for Stuart's bagpipe guitar, I used a Line 6 Variax run through a Helix with plenty of reverb and pitch modulation (I used the same setting for the e-bow part at the start of the tune).

I was born in Scotland and moved to Canada as a child, so for the background video I used shots from these two countries to represent my "Big Country".
