Imitation Slipped Bowline - Fast Easy Secure - Better than the Bowline?
In this short video I show how to tie the Imitation Bowline, which is also slipped. However, for additional security I show how to add and additional half hitch to make it even more secure. I wonder how the Imitiation Bowline compares to the actual bowling for security?
I was not aware of the Imitation Slipped Bowline till it was introduced to me by Gregg Letter. He says that he really likes the Imitation Slippery Bowline, as it is quick and easy to tie and untie. In his experience this is also a very strong loop knot. I believe that he came across this particular knot whilst messing around with a bit of cordage. I have swung off this loop and it certainly appears secure, but will it stand up to critical loading?
The method of tying reminds me a little of the Evenk Hitch, except the loop is in the standing end as opposed to the working end of the line.
