We are leaving Chicago with our heads held low. We got smoked by the Bears and we looked awful, particularly on defense. Somehow, we've got to get this figured out in 1 week-- because next up is hosting the Packs at AT&T stadium-- with falling to 1-3 on the line. Oof.
And so, we hit the road! We stayed at a 1950s style diner in Illinois, which was fun. (another mandatory shoutout to Harvest Host along with shameless begging to be sponsored by them).
From there we left Illinois (horray gas prices!) and stayed at a rest stop in Lebanon, Missouri. We watched 'Sinister' as a thunderstorm raged outside the bus. 5/5 experience. Horror movies hit sooo good in the back of a bus at a truck stop. This experience would have been the highlight of the drive, if it weren't for....
C17 !!
We went back to our fave place in Eufala, OK. We did the usual stuff: swim, eat barbecue, enjoy FAMILY TIME! But also: we had to secure the exhaust, as it looks like it's about to fall off. Let's hope my macguyver solution holds :).
NEXT: We went to THE BEST SMOKED BARBECUE MEAT WE HAVE EVER HAD. Hortudos barbecue, right near AT&T Stadium. 6 star food. Loved it.
Stay tuned tomorrow for our matchup with Green Bay. Most analysts think we are gonna get smoked. I STILL BELIEVE !!
