"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", by the Irish rock band U2, became the band's second consecutive hit single from their The Joshua Tree album reaching the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1987. Since the song was unlike anything the band had done before because of it's gospel influence, it was not intended to be released as their second single from the album. As it turned out, it was critically acclaimed and received two nominations at the 30th Grammy Awards in 1988 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
