In the 25th Episode from the Creed series, Bishop Alexei speaks about the phrase "I look for the Resurrection of the Dead", from the Nicene Creed.
For one to understand more profoundly this phrase, you need to understand the exact words translated from the Greek Language because the English language tends to generalizes a lot of words and terms translated from other languages. Bishop Alexei translates key words from the Greek language for us so we can have a clearer understanding of why the Holy Fathers of the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea included this into the Creed.
This statement is the Orthodox view on death, "The Creed reminds us each time we profess it, death is not the end"! This is the opposite of the modern mindset to run from death, to despair about death, to avoid any topic of death. Each time we profess the Creed, we acknowledge the inevitable death of each and every one of us. But we don't simply stop at death, we go further and profess the Resurrection of the Dead!
