On Sunday, August 10th, Vladyka called the diocese to make a three-day ascent of intercession. Each day this week, an Akathist to an important Saint of the Alaskan peoples is prayed across the diocese.
St. Olga: To intercede for the mothers of the soldiers in Russia and Ukraine. To make the hearts of those who deliberate hospitable to peace.
St. Herman of Alaska: Fr. Herman came from Russia to Alaska and taught the love of God & neighbor, defending the weak, and gathering people together.
Sitka Icon of the Mother of God: We will ask the Gentle Queen of Heaven to guide the talks, quiet passions, protect the innocent, and establish a just peace.
