KULT News visited Marysville, OH on Oct. 12, 2023 and had no less than THREE separate businesses (two banks and one insurance company) call the cops on us simply for taking photos from the sidewalk.
One officer, a 21-year veteran with an affinity for STAR WARS responded. Would the Force be with KULT News or would the responding officer be just another Emperor Palpatine wannabe in a long string of law enforcement officers who enforce feelings over laws?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but with very few, when you are in public, if you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
