In history it made some sense to either open the visor on a full helmet or go for an open face helmet. But stomping around like a colossal space knight in a scifi setting, while leaving your squishy organic cpu exposed as the "SHOOT HERE" weak spot?
Obviously there are stylistic reasons, and attempts to make characters more heroic and cinematic moments more epic are what keep bringing us heavily armored but helmetless warriors in movies and video games. Can can we take a moment to acknowledge how ridiculous it looks? And how much cooler and more badass the actual helmets look?
Those helmets got angry glowing eyes, for fluffs sake!
