I just learned what a transfer punch is in December when I was purchasing the tools and materials to build my PlasmaCNC. I purchased the VTC set which goes up to 1/2". When I built my truck bed extender, I needed a 5/8" inch transfer punch. My set only went up to 1/2". So that white bushing was useful in allowing me to use my 1/4" transfer punch into the 5/8" hole on the truck's receiver hitch. Super cool technique.
After doing this I would have preferred drilling directly through the holes in the 3D Printed part into the metal. i think it would have worked out better. Then I could have tapped it while the 3D Printed part was installed. It would have been more challenging with my vise.
