Thornhill Racing, Hutto (2025)
Hutto, Texas might be known for a runaway circus hippo, but Thornhill Racing Circuit is giving that story some real competition. This place is home to the largest permanent covered off road RC track in the world, and it turns remote control racing into a legitimate spectator sport.
The covered dirt track stretches 200 by 120 feet, and there's a separate 100 by 60 turf track for a different kind of racing challenge. Races run on Saturdays, alternating between tracks each week, and there's a fully stocked hobby shop on site if you get bit by the bug and want to build your own ride.
Just thirty minutes from downtown Austin, this is one of those only in Texas stops that turns a hobby most people wrote off as a kid's toy into genuine high speed entertainment.
