In episode 4 of the series, we’re in Lakewood, Ohio, at Greek Village Grille taking on their “Mount Olympus” ridiculously GIANT Gyro Challenge!
Greek Village Grille is a locally owned Greek restaurant founded by owner and chef Tommy Karakostas. The restaurant focuses on homemade, authentic Greek cuisine, with a menu featuring traditional pork, chicken, and lamb-and-beef gyros, souvlaki, fresh-cut Greek-seasoned fries, spanakopita, dolmades, homemade dips, salads, and classic desserts like baklava. Their meats are prepared in traditional gyro-shop style, and the restaurant puts a big emphasis on keeping its recipes and flavors true to the Greek food that inspired it.
The “Mount Olympus” Gyro Challenge features a massive Greek gyro weighing around 8–10 pounds! It starts with a giant 15-inch pita loaded with three different meats: chicken, pork, and a traditional lamb-and-beef gyro mixture. It’s then piled high with 1 lb each of fresh tomatoes and onions, topped with a huge portion of seasoned fries, and served with plenty of tzatziki sauce. You’ll have just 60 minutes to finish the entire meal to get the $80 meal free, a T-shirt, and a spot on their Wall of Fame!
