For the 8th installment of the series, I’m in the charming city of Rockford, Michigan, at The Corner Bar taking on their famous “Hall of Fame” Chili Dog Challenge!
The Corner Bar is a longtime Rockford favorite known for serving classic American food in a casual atmosphere. Along with their famous chili dogs, they serve burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, fish and chips, and plenty of appetizers. The restaurant has been part of the Rockford community for generations, and after a major fire in 2017, it was rebuilt while keeping its historic downtown charm.
The “Hall of Fame” Chili Dog Challenge has been a Corner Bar tradition since 1968, earning nearly 7,000 people a spot on the restaurant’s massive Wall of Fame! The base challenge is simple, finish at least 12 of their chili dogs within four hours. You’ll have to pay for the meal, but successfully completing the challenge gets your name added to the Wall of Fame. If you want the meal for free, you’ll need to finish at least 20 chili dogs within the four-hour time limit. From there, you can keep going and eat as many as you can, but if you’re looking to break the all-time record, you’ll have to take down @mollyschuyler-Mom-Vs-Food record of 50 chili dogs!
