It's no secret by now that we take building campers very seriously. With the amount of setbacks and challenges with this build tbh, I wasn't sure it was going to make the deadline and if I'm being honest this wasn't the first time we had this problem. You see with our previous system a camper had to go through 4 different vendors to be completed, which meant moving parts from here to there multiple times before we would even see parts. This ate into lead times. With such a high expectation of quality, we would often need parts remade which also ate into lead times extending some as far as 6 months, this isn't acceptable.
A few weeks back I got a call from a well-known manufacturer of expedition equipment saying they were looking to diversify what they make, after a few calls and some meetings Tyler and I decided the only way to scale this business was going to be to expand the team and delegate the manufacturing out of the house so that I don't have to build the products and the brand at the same time. Freeing up some much-needed time and resources to better scale the business. Remember adventure is just romanticized adversity and if you really want to achieve the things you want to you'll need to prepare to make some changes you weren't expecting. In this video, we travel to Saskatchewan Canada to do just that, hand off our coveted design files to our new manufacturing team, and try my hardest to get on fish while I'm gone!
