Hyundai N is preparing for a major performance expansion, with ambitious plans leading toward 2030. At the same time, Genesis Magma is creating an entirely different performance direction focused on luxury, speed and motorsport.
Hyundai Motor Company's 2026 CEO Investor Day provided a closer look at how important performance vehicles could become to the company's future. Hyundai is targeting approximately 100,000 annual N sales by 2030 while expanding the performance lineup into areas where N has traditionally had a smaller presence.
That could mean much more than additional versions of today's Hyundai N cars. Rear wheel drive, all wheel drive, hybrid technology and new performance architectures could help N reach customers who previously looked toward established European and Japanese performance brands.
Hyundai is also developing a new volume performance category positioned between N Line and full N vehicles, potentially giving customers access to N derived powertrains and components in a more everyday focused package.
Genesis is taking another approach through its Magma performance program. With the GV60 Magma entering production and the Magma GT Concept pointing toward a more ambitious sports car future, Genesis is working to combine luxury with genuine high performance capability.
In this video, we look at Hyundai's performance strategy, the expansion of Hyundai N, what Genesis Magma means for the luxury brand and why the next several years could completely change how enthusiasts view Hyundai Motor Group.
Do you think Hyundai N and Genesis Magma can seriously challenge established performance brands? Let us know in the comments, and remember to like the video and subscribe to DPCcars for more automotive news and future vehicle coverage.
