The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 and 2027 GMC Sierra AT4X are taking General Motors off-road performance to another level. Both trucks now bring 35-inch tires, serious suspension hardware, dual electronic locking differentials, and new engine choices to the fight.
In this video, we take a closer look at the new Silverado ZR2 and Sierra AT4X to see what separates these 2 closely related off-road pickups. Both feature a 2-inch factory suspension lift, Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve dampers, additional jounce dampers, and front and rear electronic locking differentials.
General Motors is also introducing its new generation of V8 engines, including 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter naturally aspirated options, while the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel continues to give buyers another choice.
The differences become clearer inside. The Sierra AT4X takes a more premium approach with its Timber Mahogany interior and upscale materials, while the Silverado ZR2 goes in a sportier direction with Torch Red accents and forged carbon fiber trim.
So which 2027 General Motors off-road truck would you choose? For me, the Silverado ZR2 has the edge, but the Sierra AT4X makes a very strong argument for buyers who want luxury and serious trail capability in the same truck.
