The 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is getting one of its most significant upgrades yet, with new styling, updated engines, and dramatically more advanced technology.
Mercedes-Benz is bringing technology from its newest electric vehicles into the combustion-powered C-Class, while keeping gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and diesel powertrains alive.
The updated W206 C-Class receives redesigned headlights and taillights featuring Mercedes-Benz star graphics, along with a more prominent front grille inspired by the latest generation of Mercedes vehicles. But the biggest changes are happening underneath the familiar body.
Mercedes-Benz is introducing MB.OS technology, over-the-air vehicle software updates, Google Maps based navigation, advanced MB.DRIVE assistance technology, and artificial intelligence integration using ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.
The engine lineup has also been reworked for upcoming Euro 7 emissions requirements. The C 200 produces 174 horsepower, the C 250 develops 215 horsepower, and the C 300 reaches 255 horsepower. A new electrically powered compressor supported by the 48-volt mild-hybrid system is designed to reduce turbo lag and improve engine response.
The C 400 e plug-in hybrid produces 389 horsepower and offers approximately 62 miles, or 100 kilometers, of electric driving range. Mercedes-Benz is also continuing to offer diesel engines in Europe.
Suspension improvements, revised adaptive dampers, firmer bushings, and available rear axle steering are intended to make the updated C-Class more controlled and enjoyable through corners.
Do these upgrades make the 2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class more appealing than going fully electric? Let us know what you think in the comments, and remember to like the video and subscribe for more upcoming vehicle news, premieres, and detailed coverage.
