The Czinger 21C Spyder arrives with 1,250 horsepower, a claimed 0 to 60 miles per hour time of just 1.9 seconds, and an innovative new integrated braking system.
Starting at $2.75 million and limited to only 30 examples, this Los Angeles-built hypercar is far more than a 21C with its roof removed.
The 21C Spyder uses Czinger's twin turbocharged 2.88-liter V8 hybrid powertrain, combining the combustion engine with electric motors to produce 1,250 horsepower and 691 pound-feet of torque. Performance includes an 8.7-second quarter mile and a claimed top speed of 205 miles per hour.
One of the most interesting developments is the new BrakeNode system. Czinger integrates the suspension upright, brake caliper, and hydraulic pathways into one structure, reducing unsprung mass while potentially improving stopping performance. Massive carbon ceramic brake rotors, titanium front brake pistons, and a maintenance-friendly design make the system one of the most unusual parts of the 21C Spyder.
Aerodynamics remain extreme even with the roof removed. Czinger says the Spyder generates 3,267 pounds of downforce at 150 miles per hour without its roof and 3,307 pounds with it installed. A full-length underbody diffuser and enormous 76-inch swan neck rear wing help keep the car planted.
