Travelling East after a camping trip in Outback Australia, on a red dirt road, I found myself travelling in the middle of hundreds of Kangaroos and Emus all tracking East at quite a fast pace.
I don’t know how to describe the feeling of being there among so many of our Australian Wildlife, this was just amazing. I think it is one of those life experiences that makes you feel so insignificant in the world.
Because of my poor camera work, this video is better watched on a PC or TV at the highest resolution. Very sorry.
NOW, I must apologize for my lousy camera work in this video. It was all my fault, nothing to do with the Panasonic Lumix FZ47 it was filmed with. I was not expecting to film anything on my way home, and in my excitement at what was happening, I waved the camera around like a NUTTER, not giving the camera time to focus, hoping to catch as much of this as I could, if I gave it a chance to focus it would have shown all the Kangaroos in the distance that I could see. So my fault totally. I must say I was also trying to soak in what was happening and enjoy it live, sometimes looking elsewhere to where the camera was moving or facing. But I guess it does make me think of upgrading my camera anyway. Suggestions?????.
A LESSON FOR US ALL, When you go to see your kids in a school concert, etc, you see many of the parents watching their kids through a camera viewfinder and not really watching and enjoying the environment, atmosphere, and seeing the big picture live. Be there and enjoy the moment, let the camera come second.
Yes, when the train went past, I was standing in the wrong spot and nearly got hit by an escaping kangaroo (I did not get him in the video, but got his mate coming close).
I hope you enjoy the video and can imagine what it was like to be there at the time. Amazing.
