Yesterday I captured my third humpback whale of the season, my 4th whale overall so far this year. Just off the coast of Bridgehampton, NY.
In the past week I spotted very few fish between Montauk and Southampton along the shoreline. Fishing boats spotted off Montauk Point as usual and East Hampton seemed to be the hot spot for anglers, next to no boats hanging out near Shinnecock Inlet. Very few surfcasters in the early morning hours. Plenty of sand eels, a few random striped bass and dolphins….and this one beautiful humpback. No menhaden spotted east of the canal….they should be popping up out east any day now (fingers crossed).
