Drone footage taken of two humpback whales, 1000ft of the coast of Old Town Beach in Southampton, NY today 6/11/24. These are first I have spotted this close for the 2024 season. According to my records, and many years flying the Atlantic ocean in the Long Island region, these whales are arriving approximately 3-4 weeks earlier than they did last season. Note, Whales have been spotted off NYC in the previous weeks.
