This drone footage features two adult bottlenose dolphins and 3 very small calves. Bottlenose dolphins are born with a dark skin often considered camouflage in a mother’s shadow. Usually, they lighten color within the first few weeks or months of life although color alone is not fair determination of their age. Here you can see three different sizes and shades of darkness. Flying drones for the past ten years I have never spotted 3 calves with one mother, it was quite an exciting experience, as bottlenose females are known to produce just one calf every 3-5 years.
