I hear a lot of mixes from Indie musicians. Sadly many are very broken - usually from Overmixing & Overmastering out of fear of not seeming good enough. This video looks at the usual Problems & Solutions. Often the best solution is actually to bring in someone who is strong where you are weaker so everyone can focus on strengths.

Mixing is like playing guitar, you can be Loud, Fast & Flashy or you can be Good. You can't be good at loud, fast & flashy until you are actually Good. Being a shoddy guitarist will get you un-hired from every quality gig. Poor mixing will result in the same, even if you get Likes.
