Okay, who here has been stuck in a reply-to-all email chain hell? When it comes to collecting and providing feedback on video edits, there is a better way.
First, use a video review platform. This is a tool that allows collaborators to review, comment on, and provide feedback on video content in real-time. These platforms streamline the review process, and make sure no feedback is lost in an endless email string. The video itself is uploaded to the platform, then reviewers can leave time-stamped comments, highlight specific frames, and discuss edits in context, improving efficiency and clarity.
There are a number of review platforms with varying features and costs, including Frame.io, Dropbox Replay, Vimeo Review, and Whipster.
Next, make sure to designate one person who has the final say. Often aesthetics are a matter of taste. And you don’t want the review process halted because of a disagreement.
Finally, set a revision limit. For us, we create 3 versions, then it’s done. Otherwise, requests for changes could go on forever.
