This video will show you how to record video games on Windows 10 (similar to the lets play Youtube videos that are very common) using a free software for Windows, OBS (Open Broadcast Studio). For recording a game, you need to do a little more work. First, you need to figure out what settings you need for optimal recording. A good guide for these settings is the Youtube suggested settings list: support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en
After you have the settings figured out, go into the settings option in OBS, and input them.
After this, right click in the sources box, and choose game capture from the list. In this window, you can normally let it automatically detect your game by leaving the top box checked, but if it is having issues, deselect the any fullscreen window option and select your game yourself.
After this, you can just hit start recording in the right, play the game, and hit stop recording when you are finished. Then to find the video you created, just click on the file option, and click show recordings.
