In this video, Maxx shows you how to make a simple and fun meal for any larp genre. These meat pockets are portable, clean and delicious food for larp. They are great for regular camping trips, fun for kids or just for an evening meal.
You can substitute as much as you want, and make this versatile meal your own, but to them like in the video, you'll need:
Crecent Dough Sheets
Ground Beef
Cheese
Spices
*I always suggest using fresh, organic ingredients, however I know that isn't always an option. If you're able to, use the good stuff! With the exception being the absolute trash canned dough... a necessary evil to keep this simple.*
This food item is really amazingly versatile, you can do pulled pork or chicken, hamburgers, steaks, pub style loose meat, sloppy joe, bangers n mash, seitan, tofu, pizza stuff, fruit filling, ANYTHING! So, experiment and have fun at your larp game.
Pro Tips:
1. Undercook your meat slightly, since it will be getting additional cook time while browning the dough.
2. Avoid too much moisture, very moist meat, soggy ingredients and condiments will make the dough soggy, find the perfect amount ahead of time and stick with it.
3. Use pieces of the dough sheet to cut out small designs and put on the top to further own this piece of food and enhance it's look for sale in your game.
4. Make a fun name for it. Sure, "Would you like me to Banger n Mash your Meat Pocket" sounds great... But not for everyone. So, something like Meat Packet, Meat Pies, Beef Cake, Ratburger, Pain Sandwich, or whatever your mind comes up with will add immersion to this food item.
5. Remember my digger bread video??? Guess what you post-apocalyptic lovelies.
6. Cook your meats well done if serving to others. I know many people do not like meats well done, but their bodies and your bank account will appreciate no one getting sick and suing you. Also clearly list all ingredients for allergy reasons.
