In this video, Maxx shows you how to make a Penny Stove or Alcohol Stove Prop out of a soda pop can for use in Post-Apocalyptic, Dystopian, Zombie or Survival style larps. This is a great practical survival item turned into a cool prop to keep immersion solid and wow other players. It's simple to make and fun to use as a prop.
If you play a character that does any amount of "cooking" in these genre games, you need to have this item in your kit.
All you need is:
x2 Old Cans
Something To Poke Holes In A Can
Something Sharp
Battery Powered Micro-LEDs
A Coin (Penny)
Pro Tips:
Use cans that are already aged.
Pick fun cans that preferrably have logos on the lower portion of the can.
Make the stove as small as you can and still fit everything inside.
Try to find red LEDs, if you can get ones that run off watch batteries, awesome.
I hope you enjoyed this build. If you make one, please link me a photo or share it with me on social media, I'd love to see how yours turns out.
*This project has sharp edges, so be careful cutting and poking, wear eye protection and gloves when building it. Any attempt to recreate is at your own risk.*
**Yes this is an actual penny stove, we just stuck some bulbs in it. If you take the bulbs out, you can pour flammable alcohol in the center hole and light it, then cover the big hole with a penny, and actually cook stuff on it. This use is not suggested due to safety reasons, and is at your own risk**
