Maxx reviews the very unique GargoyleForge™ DungeonDwellers™ LARP-Safe Torch! It really is something special and I highly enjoy this boffer weapon.
The torch is 18" (45.7 cm) long and is designed to hold a single 4" (10 cm) glo-stick.
The torch is lightweight and very fun to use. It was built to pass safety inspection at most light-touch LARP games in the US. But you'll have to check for your specific game.
Even if it can't be used as a weapon at your larp for some reason, it is still a safe prop to use for lighting and looks great!
If you buy the proper 4" glo-stick, which I did not, to use in this weapon, then simply fold the hanging tip of the glo-stick slightly with one finger, nestle the thick end into the center of the torch assembly, and gently but firmly slide the rest of the glo-stick into standing position, allowing the tab to enter the foam socket in the top. That's it! Your lit glo-stick will remain snug, even if the torch is called upon to be used in active combat!
According to Gargoyle Forge, you now have no excuse to "cast Magic Missile into the darkness," because everyone in your party can have a LARP-Safe Torch! Get your party back in the light today!
