These little macaron chicks are so cute and great for your easter party! Your guests will be so impressed! You can put these on display at an easter party in little nests along with candy eggs! I hope you guys like this easter collab!
Ingredients
Macaron:
3/4 c. Almond meal/flour
1 c. powder sugar
2 eggs whites
4Tbs. granulated sugar
Yellow food coloring
Royal Icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp dried egg whites/ merengue powder
4 tbsp warm water
Orange food coloring
Black food coloring
Filling:
Nutella
Direction:
Sift almond flour and powdered sugar in the same bowl, and mix to combine. Set the bowl aside. In a stand mixer beat your egg whites for two minutes. Slowly incorporate the granulated sugar. Few minutes later add the food coloring. Continue beating until the egg whites becoming stiff peaks. Add the egg whites into the dry ingredients and fold 20-30 times. After everything is well incorporated put it in a pastry bag and pipe equal circle onto parchment paper. Let it sit for 30 minutes to create a thin layer. Preheat oven to 325 Degrees. Turn oven down to 300 and bake for 8 mins on the top or bottom rack only. NOT THE MIDDLE. Turn cookie sheet and bake another 8 mins. When its done let it cool completely. Then slowly peel them off. To make the royal icing mix all the ingredients together. Split the icing in half. Dye one orange and one black. Make the chicks face with the royal icing. The last thing is to fill the macaron with nutella. And your done!
