About this video: If you want to know how to make a modded Minecraft server with CurseForge 26.1 mods, this is the video for you! We walk you through everything from creating a custom modpack for your server in CurseForge to getting a modded server up and running so you can play with friends. Let’s get started!
We’re going to start out in the CurseForge App. There is a guide above to download it if you don’t have it already. In the app, My Modpacks tab and click "Create" to start a new profile. Name your profile, select the version of Minecraft you want to play, and choose Fabric as your mod loader. Once your profile is created, you can click the "Add Content" button to browse and install any Fabric mods you want.
Export this by right-clicking on the profile and exporting it as a .zip. Send this to your friends. They can be imported into the CurseForge app, and they will play with this to join your server.
From here, we need to download the Fabric Installer. There is a link in the description above that will take you to our guide on getting the Fabric Installer. On that page, click download button and then "Download for Windows".
Create a new "Modded Minecraft Server" folder on your desktop. Then, open the Fabric Installer with Java 25, you can download it above if the installer doesn’t open, and click the "Server" tab at the top of the Fabric Installer. You then want to click the three dots next to the Launcher Location box, and select the folder you just created. Click "Install", then "Download Server Jar", and finally "Generate". All of your Fabric server files will now be downloaded into that folder.
Now, we want to open the server folder and double-click the start.bat file. An eula.txt file will have generated in your server folder. Open it and change eula=false to eula=true. Save the file, then double-click the start.bat file again. Your modded Minecraft server will now start.
To add mods to your server, go back to the CurseForge app, right-click on your mods profile, and click “Open Folder”. This will open your installation’s files. Copy the mods folder here and paste into to your server’s main directory. This will merge it with your server’s mods folder. Stop and start your server, and your mods will be active.
To join the server, play Minecraft using your installation in CurseForge and connect with the IP address "localhost". For your friends to join, you will need to port forward. Our complete guide on that is linked above. They will play with the CurseForge installation they setup earlier and join with your public IP.
At this point, you now know how to make a modded Minecraft server with CurseForge 26.1. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments.
Otherwise, be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Thank you very, very much in advance!
