About this video: This video shows you how to download and install shaders for Minecraft 26.1.2 on PC. We go over every single step of how to get shaders in Minecraft using Iris Shaders, so by the end of this, you will have shaders up and running in 26.1.2.
First things first, we need to download the Iris Shaders installer. Iris Shaders is the shader mod that actually allows shader packs to work in Minecraft, and it offers the best performance thanks to being paired with Sodium. There is a link in the description above to get Iris. That will take you to our text guide where you can click the download button to go to the official download page. From there, click the "Download for Windows" button, and the installer will start downloading.
You will also need to download some shader packs. There is a link to our list of the best shader packs in the description above, but any shader pack will work with this video. Most shader packs are downloaded from CurseForge or Modrinth. You can even grab multiple packs if you want to try different looks.
With everything downloaded, we can move on to installing shaders for Minecraft 26.1.2. Open the Iris Installer you downloaded, select 26.1.2 as your version, and click "Install". Iris Shaders will download and install into Minecraft. It's that easy.
Now, open up the Minecraft Launcher, and play using your Iris & Sodium installation. This is the profile you will use to play Minecraft with shaders in 26.1.2.
Once you are on the main menu, go to Options, Video Settings, and you will see "Shader Packs" in the left-hand sidebar. Click this to open your shader menu. Drag-and-drop the shader packs you want to install directly into this menu. They will instantly appear.
To activate shaders in Minecraft 26.1.2, just click on the shader pack you want to use and click "Apply". You can also change your shader settings with the button in the bottom right. Every shader pack has different settings, so it is worth checking out if you want to tweak performance or change the overall look.
