About this video: This video is our complete guide on how to get more FPS in Minecraft 26.2. We do this using our modpack NotiFine, which is a Sodium-based modpack that tries to mirror all of OptiFine's features. That means you get the FPS boost and performance optimizations of Sodium alongside the visual features people love about OptiFine, all in Minecraft 26.2. We also add tons of mods on top of Sodium to get even more FPS. Let’s get started!
The first step of boosting your FPS in 26.2 is downloading the CurseForge App. There is a link to our CurseForge guide in the description above. On that page, click the "Download" button to go to their official page, and then click "Download Standalone" to download the app installer.
After you have the installer downloaded, run it and install CurseForge just like any other program. When it opens, click on "Minecraft", select "Standard", and click "Continue" to get things ready. You will also need to select your launcher. I recommend the Mojang Launcher.
Then, at the top, search for "NotiFine" and click the "Install" button. NotiFine for 26.2 will start installing. Once it is finished, click the "Play" button that appears, login to the Minecraft Launcher, and click "Play" twice. NotiFine 26.2 will then open.
By default, NotiFine will already give Minecraft 26.2 an FPS boost. However, you can go to "Options" and "Video Settings" to push your performance even further. First things first, click on "Shader Packs" at the top and disable shaders. Shaders are a huge lag center, so turning them off will boost your FPS a ton. While you are here, make sure your Max Framerate is set to unlimited and VSync is turned off to see the highest FPS possible.
From there, lower your render distance and simulation distance as far down as you are comfortable with, and go through the rest of the settings turning things to fast or off. Particles especially can cause a lot of lag in 26.2, so turning those off helps. The one exception is the "Performance" tab, where you want everything turned on, as this is where a lot of the FPS boost comes from.
Once you have things dialed in, you should see way more FPS right away. From there, feel free to play around with your settings, as you may be able to keep a higher render distance or better graphics depending on your PC. Generally, we recommend at least 30 FPS for Minecraft 26.2 to be playable, and 60 FPS for an amazing experience.
With that, you now know how to get more FPS in Minecraft 26.2. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments. We will try our best to help you out. Otherwise, be sure to give the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel if you haven't already. It really helps us out, and it means a ton to me. Thank you very, very much in advance!
