So you have a ton of website views. That’s wonderful! But – be honest – is anyone taking the action that you want them to take? Are you seeing concrete donations, inquiries, or sign-ups?
If not, you need to think about the journey your website visitors should be taking. So they arrive at your website. Great. What’s the next thing you want them to do?
Make it a small but meaningful step toward your greater goal. Maybe you want them to watch a video about your mission. Maybe sign up for your newsletter.
Then, make that next step clear and obvious. Put it front and center, don’t let other links or headlines compete with it.
Often it helps to sweeten the deal, for example, offer a free download in exchange for a newsletter sign-up.
Then, think through the next logical step in their journey, and make that obvious once they’ve completed the first action. And so forth.
That way, step by step, you can guide them to take the action and engage meaningfully with your mission.
