To hide and unhide the dock in MacOS (Macbook, Mac Mini), pres Alt + Command (Cmd) + D at the same time.
You can also do it by right clicking on the dock, going to Dock Settings, and activating the tab "Automatically show and hide the dock".
Press the button combination Alt + Command + D actually activates and deactivates this tab.
