If you suddenly have no sound on Windows 11, first check if your windows has the right output. Press on this icon here next to the volume slider press on this icon, then select the device you want the sound to be played on.
In my case, I could hear the sound when connecting and selecting my earbuds, but I couldn’t hear the sound from the speakers when I selected them.
I restarted my laptop and the problem was fixed.
But if it didn’t work for you, then go to start, and in this box type Troubleshoot, Click on Troubleshoot settings, Other troubleshooters, and press Run on the Audio one, scroll down and press yes, then let the troubleshooter do its thing. But if it gets stuck at loading and not fixing the issue, here are other things you can do.
Go to Start and search for services, Click to open, Search for Windows Audio and restart the service. Also, if you are experiencing the No Sound error after an update, make sure that Windows Audio is on Automatic Startup Type. If it’s not, them right click, Properties, and from this drop down menu select Automatic. Then hit apply.
If it didn’t work, then Go back to the start menu, search for Device Manager and Open it. Expand Sound, video and game controllers. Find you High Definition Audio Device, If you have multiple ones, then you need to do this for each one of them. Right click, Properties, Driver, Select Update Driver, Click on Browse my computer for drivers, Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer, select the High Definition audio device, and press next.
If it didn’t work, then right click on the High Definition Audio Device, Click on Uninstall device, Then click on Action, Scan for hardware changes, then restart your computer and now it should work.
But if it didn’t, here’s how I fixed someone’s computer that wouldn’t have sound, in spite trying all these tricks.
I installed a program called Driver Booster. This video is not sponsored, it just happened that this is how I fixed the issue. Driver Booster has a trial option, so you can download and install it for free, but as a heads up, it will install other bloatware, like iTopVPN if you’re not careful, so when installing the program, make sure to unckeck the optional offers.
Okay, now that the program is installed and open, scan for the drivers, install them (especially the audio related ones) and your computer should work now. I hope this video helped.
