On creating a long-term career as a coffee roaster
Working as a roaster is hard, and many roasters face challenges when trying to build a lasting career in the roastery. From compounding physical effects to hitting a salary ceiling to burnout, there are many reasons we lose good roasters after a few years. But if you're a roaster and you want to continue to be, there are a few things you can do to prolong your tenure.

*NOTE: This is not an exhaustive explanation of everything that can lead to a long career as a roaster. Each person needs different things to stay engaged and moving forward, so make sure to take what's useful and leave the rest.
*LAST NOTE: It's also totally fine to leave roasting if that's what you want to do. Sometimes we outgrow jobs we've loved. Sometimes our aspirations change. If you choose to leave roasting, no shade! Do what works for you and keep on learning.
